Uluru Camping Tours

My small group camping tours around Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park are designed to give you the space and time to fully appreciate this incredible landscape for what it really is. So many tours rush through, take a photo and move on to the next spot but Uluru is a place to stop, listen and absorb. With fewer people on board you won’t be just a number in a crowd but able to fully engage with me and I’ll always do my best to tailor the experience to best suit you. At my safari camp in Yulara’s Coach Campground you can either retire to your tent or venture out under the stars in a swag next to the fire. Uluru has been my home and my passion since I arrived in 2010 and I’ve run tours here ever since. I am truly blessed with the connections I’ve been able to create with rangers and community over the years and I’d love to share them all with you. Your Tour Itinerary

    Day 1

    Meet your new Malpa family direct from flights at the Ayers Rock Airport. We begin by heading to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre for an introduction to the National Park and it’s natural and cultural significance. Then spend the afternoon following the tracks of the Mala people as we begin our journey in story around Uluru’s magnificent north western side. As the day draws to a close we head to our sunset viewing area for unique photo opportunities of Uluru’s world famous glow. Anangu ladies are often here and you can have the chance to say Palya or purchase artwork from them directly. Heading back to camp you can have a hot shower while I cook dinner and get the fire going..

    Day 2

    We begin our day with a scenic drive across Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park towards the mysterious changing shapes of Kata Tjuta. Wandering as the sun rises between the domes at Valley of the Winds you’ll feel dwarfed by the vastness of the Red Centre almost like you’re walking on another planet. After lunch we head to Uluru’s southern side for an afternoon exploring the Mutitjulu Waterhole. This area is home to Uluru’s most prominent water source and the stories of Kuniya and Liru. Tonight you have the option for a quiet sunset at a secluded dune behind my camp or the space to book yourself on to the new Wintjiri Wiru drone show. Enjoy another evening under the stars..

    Day 3

    Today we rise early for a picnic breakfast inside the National Park and sunrise over Uluru from a quieter viewing area away from the crowds. Enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee as the warmth and light filters back into the desert around us. Once the sun has risen it’s your chance to explore the Uluru base walk with your Malpa family and connect the remaining parts of the Uluru story together. We stop at Uluru’s base to take a few last reflective moments and remember what we have learned on our journey before heading back to Ayers Rock Airport by midday. As you begin the journey back towards civilization my hope is that Uluru’s glow is something that will live on inside you too..
